Serving veterans and their families in Northern California with resources to give them a hand up, not a hand out.

Dear Community Partner,

Currently, there are 600+ low-income or homeless veterans in Placer County. Due to financial, health, transportation or other issues, many do not have access or cannot afford basic services; such as food, rent, or basic medical and dental care.

In order to assist these brave men and women, who stood up for our country, Placer Veterans Stand Down (PVSD) will be hosting a three day Stand Down event, May 14th through May 16th, 2024.

A modern Stand Down is modeled after the Stand Down concept that was used during the Vietnam War. Exhausted combat troops were provided a safe environment to rest, recover, receive meals and medical attention, and enjoy some much-needed, friendly camaraderie. Similarly, our event will offer all veterans medical care, dental care, vision care, food, legal services, housing and employment assistance, pet care, clothing, coats, sleeping bags, camaraderie and many other services, all in a safe environment. All services are provided free of charge to all veterans. However, we cannot succeed without the help of individuals or companies like you.

To honor and care for these brave and neglected men and women, we need your support and help. We invite you to help us to lend a hand in renewing the spirit, health, and overall sense of well-being of our veterans. We are seeking monetary or in-kind donations, for this event, to help us serve the most vulnerable of our veteran community. As a 501(3)(c), all donations to the PVSD are tax deductible.

Placer Veterans Stand Down is staffed and operated wholly by volunteers. Physicians, dentists, veterinarians and other professionals all donate their time, as well. Financial donations are used to pay for supplies needed to offer these services. 100% of your donation goes toward helping our veterans. We are an all-volunteer organization and no one receives a stipend or monetary compensation.

Any amount helps. Checks can be made payable to Placer Veterans Stand Down (PVSD) and may be
mailed to

P.O. Box 582 Roseville, CA 95661.

Please call 916-251-9249 to make a donation or for any questions.

Thank you, in advance, for your willingness to support those veterans most vulnerable, in our
community.
