Dear PVSD Board Members and Volunteers,

It is with my deepest gratitude and my utmost admiration that I thank each and every one of you for your dedication, time and talents that you so graciously gave to help make Placer Veterans Stand Down 2024 be such a resounding success. Because of you, we were able to offer services, hope and assistance to 430 individual veterans and family members.

To the professionals of California Care Force, our veterinarian, hair stylists and entertainers: you may think that it was just a few hours of your time, but your willingness to volunteer your talents provided help and enjoyment to so many individuals who needed it. From the veteran who hugged me and cried with happiness for his new dentures to the dog owning veteran who said that he would not have been able to afford care for his “best friend”, you changed many lives during the event. To the Thunder Valley Casino, Randy Peters Catering, Salvation Army, Roseville Host Lions Club, The Miranda Family, the Roseville Elks Lodge, Roseville Chick-Fil-A and VFW 3010, the delicious meals that you provided, filled the bellies and warmed the hearts of all the attendees, volunteers and service providers. Your generosity was deeply appreciated.

Through your example, you have shown that even one person can help make a profound change for others. Your compassion made an incredible impact on the lives of those who served and sacrificed so much for our country. Your dedication has not only touched the lives of many veterans, but has also inspired many others to serve and support those in need.

On behalf of the veterans and their families, whose lives you have touched, I offer you my sincere gratitude and deepest thanks. I realize that hardly seems like recompense, but am deeply humbled by all of your efforts. Thank you for honoring our veterans and providing them the care that they so richly
deserve.

Please accept my heartfelt appreciation and admiration,

Diane Muirhead
