Dear Volunteers and Friends,

It’s that time again! Time to start planning the 2024 Placer Veterans Stand Down. Please mark your calendars and save the dates below.

Stand Down – We have scheduled the 2024 Placer Veterans Stand Down for May 6th – 9th , 2024. The Stand Down will again be held @the Grounds (formerly Placer County Fairgrounds)
  • Monday, May 6th – set up day
  • Tuesday, May 7th – all services provided, 8 AM until 4 PM. The opening ceremony has been moved to 11 AM.
  • Wednesday, May 8th – All services provided, 8 AM until 4 PM
  • Thursday, May 9th – breakdown day, 8AM – until complete (Usual 11 or noon.)

Planning Meetings – The planning meetings will be held on Mondays, on the dates below. The meeting time will be 5:30 until 7. The meetings will be held at the Denny’s Restaurant, 122 Sunrise Blvd Roseville, CA 95661. We will be in the room to your left, as you enter. Food and beverages will not be provided, so please come a few minutes early, if you would like to order something.

Everyone is welcome to attend the planning meetings, both those who have previously helped us and those who have not yet participated. We will be looking for section leaders as well as volunteers for many, many positions.

The rest of the Board and I are excited to work with all of you to plan another outstanding stand down. The Placer Veterans Stand Down would not happen without all of you!

Calling all general volunteers! We need your help in order to serve our veterans and their family members for this year’s Stand Down. We will provide various services in different areas during the event, some of which listed below. Please consider volunteering with us, and click the sign up button below to get involved.

Fun volunteer opportunities in these and other areas

  • Donated clothing collection and distribution
  • Animal care clinic helpers
  • Greeters
  • Registration check-in staff
  • Legal professionals
  • Security guards
  • Setup and tear down manual labor

Our medical, dental, and vision services are provided by California Care Force (CCF), and their sign-up process is managed by their staff. They’re looking for professional assistance in medical professions listed in the flyer below.
